Another reason is the use of pesticides, additives, and preservatives in food that can be harmful to human health if consumed in large quantities.
In addition, food fraud is a growing concern in the food industry. Fraudulent practices such as the mislabeling of food, the use of harmful substances to extend the shelf life of food, and the use of inferior ingredients can compromise the safety and quality of food.
To address these issues, it is crucial to have an effective food safety regulatory system in place. Governments and regulatory agencies need to enforce strict regulations and standards to ensure that food is safe for consumption. This requires the implementation of food safety measures throughout the entire food supply chain - from the production of raw materials to the processing, packaging, transportation, and storage of food.
At the same time, consumers also play a critical role in promoting food safety. By being aware of the risks and practicing good hygiene in food preparation and storage, we can reduce the chances of food contamination. We should also make informed choices about the food we consume and ensure that we purchase food only from trusted sources.
In conclusion, food safety is a complex and multifaceted issue that requires the concerted effort of all stakeholders - governments, regulatory agencies, food producers, and consumers.
