欢迎大家在百忙之中参加咱们这半学期的家长会，我是孩子们的英语老师。各位家长都知道现在英语越来越成为日常生活和交流的媒介，英语的重要性日益突出。英语作为最重要的信息载体之一，已成为人类生活各个领域中使用最广泛的语言。许多国家在基础教育发展战略中，都把英语教育作为公民素质教育的重要组成部分，并将其摆在突出的地位。当然，咱们国家现在对英语的重视也在加强，所以说咱们对孩子英语的学习要从现在开始抓起，为以后考初中，高中，大学打下一个好的基础。下面我简单说一下期中考试的情况。整体来说这次考试的成绩还是不错的，能明显的看到孩子们的进步，有好几个还考了满分（这个时候你可以举出来几个考满分的例子，把学生的名字简单的一带，让得满分的孩子们的家长高兴一下，也让成绩不太好的孩子家长和成绩好的孩子的家长有个私下交流的机会），但是有个别的学生这次成绩考的不是特别的理想。咱们英语考试的内容包括听力和书面两大部分。
第一，通过这次期中考试，发现很多学生充分调动单词的能力还有待加强，明明那些单词学生都会说，但是当单词出现在试卷上的时候，很多人就不认识了。虽然在平时早读课的时候我都要求学生边读边指，读到哪指到哪，但是部分学生还没能达到单词句子认读的要求。
第二，单词，课文的巩固力度还不够，这也一直是学生们的一大弱项。家庭作业大都是以读单词，背课文为主，所以家长一定要做好监督工作。
第三，26个字母的大小写书写不规范。没有注意特殊单词首字母要大写。
第四，注意细节，强化记忆。有些题学生明明是可以拿满分的，可因为一些细节的东西而丢了分，这是最冤的。
下面介绍一下教材，四年级的英语，是小学英语学习中一个重要的阶段。“万丈高楼平地起”，只有地基打牢了，楼才能建得高。所以打好基础是非常重要的。四年级是英语学习的初级阶段和基础阶段，培养孩子良好的学习英语的学习习惯是最最要的。这些好的学习习惯会让他们在英语学习的道路上受益匪浅。 怎样帮助孩子学好英语呢？我们老师自然是最直接的知识传授者，虽然我们英语课时特别少，但是我会尽自己最大努力提高课堂效率。在此，我只是真诚地呼吁我们的家长配合学校，配合老师，我们共同努力来帮助孩子学好英语。我们要和孩子共同成长。因此我们要重视学生良好的学习习惯的培养。
首先，英语记忆性的内容较多，如果不经常复习的话，容易遗忘。除了把握好课堂上的40分钟，课后不断的巩固，加深记忆是非常重要的。可是，每个班总会有一部分不自觉的学生不能按时完成作业、不主动背诵课文、不认真做回家作业、更谈不上默写课文的单词??，由此，学生之间的差距就慢慢拉大了。其实，在学校中每个孩子的学习时间都差不多,但校外的学习时间则不同。希望各位家长能针对自己孩子的实际情况进行监督。
其次，帮助孩子建立和形成良好的英语学习习惯。良好的学习习惯分两部分：一是课堂习惯，二是课外习惯。课堂良好习惯表现为：能集中注意力听，能积极大胆发言，能适时的做好必要的笔记。课外良好的习惯表现为：能按时，保质保量的完成课外作业能自觉自发地进行听说读写的预习和复习工作；再者，要关注孩子的学习过程，不要只注重结果。意思是说不要等成绩出来了再说，而是时刻关注孩子每一天的成长。比如说，在家我们是否听到孩子大声地说或读英语，大声尤其重要，因为英语的语音较汉语来讲，比较夸张，声音小，容易造成发音不到位，错音也不容易被发现；每天是否能听到孩子脱口而出简单地英语句子。
（基础教育阶段英语课程的任务是：激发和培养学生学习英语的兴趣，使学生树立自信心，养成良好的学习习惯和形成有效的学习策略，发展自主学习的能力和合作精神；使学生掌握一定的英语基础知识和听、说、读、写技能，形成一定的综合语言运用能力；培养学生的观察、记忆、思维、想象能力和创新精神；帮助学生了解世界和中西方文化的差异，拓展事视野，培养爱国主义精神，形成健康的人生观，为他们的终身学习和发展打下良好的基础。
